ELON EISENBERG M.D. Dr. Eisenberg heads the pain therapy unit at the Rambam hospital. He graduated from the Sekler medical school at the Tel-Aviv University in 1980. In 1989 he completed his residency training in neurology at the Rambam Medical Center and since has focused on developing his skills in the field of pain therapy. Dr. Eisenberg trained for this vocation in the best medical centers in the world including the Massachusetts General Hospital and the Brigham and Women's Hospital (both affiliated with the Harvard School of Medicine). He also gained academic recognition and was appointed Clinical Research Fellow at the Harvard Medical School and lecturer at the Rappaport Faculty of Medicine at the Technion (Israel Institute of Technology). Due to his experience and the outstanding achievements in his clinical work and research Dr. Eisenberg was appointed to serve on several fact finding and policy making committees including the Cochrane Collaboration Task Force of the American Pain Society and the research committee of the International Association for the Study of Pain. His main research interests are the treatment of Neuropathic Pain in Humans and Basic Mechanisms Underlying Neuropathic Pain. Dr. Eisenberg has published more than 30 scientific papers and was invited to participate in the writing of two medical books contributing the sections concerning pain understanding and therapy. Dr. Eisenberg is also a very welcome lecturer at scientific meetings and has presented his work at more than 45 professional conferences. |
